Re: Printing Results - Miniatures (Log)

Thanks Fernando!

With focus, it sounds like it may have knocked the lens out of focus in transit?
If you have your Pico 1 39 Focus plate, you can put that on the platform and then manually move the projector focus ring inside to focus it more sharply?

I used a cheap USB microscope at 500x zoom to make sure the focus was spot on clear! smile

Re: Printing Results - Miniatures (Log)

Another one im particularly pleased with, 3d print and master casting. 36mm tall.

ludus2_zpsrm8rhtqu.jpg

Printers still running well, a few issues with the older Pico 1's lately with bad build table adhesion which i just cant seem to pin down on why its occurring. Will keep working on that.

Great forum is working again! big_smile

Been doing lots more prints and castings. Here are some interesting ones:

This is me, in 2015, using Solidscape 3Z with constant downtime and print failures:

Now in 2016 i print with Asiga and the great reliability has me achieving printer-zen-harmony more like:

Love this model too

Re: Printing Results - Miniatures (Log)

Getting some problems with bad build table adherence at the moment. Very hit and miss with prints peeling off... cold temperature, humidity? Teflon tension?
One build table is very smooth and polished over time. Not a good gripping surface.
Calibrated Z limit. Sliders also.
Printer heating is on but im still troubleshooting and may increase tension of springs a little, ordered some longer ones.

Some prints which adhere are coming out nicely though big_smile

Is it the ghost of christmas past?

Some more master casts created from Asiga prints for a client. Easier to see detail on these casts and no printlines in sight as always

Each is 35mm tall, so quite an enlarged picture!

Merry christmas fellow makers big_smile

Nice elf model for another client big_smile

Still have print bed adherence issues on the older machines, in the same area of the buildtable each time. Looks like a section of under cured resin on the attachment layers. Have ordered some new toys to try and get to the bottom of this.

Re: Printing Results - Miniatures (Log)

Im having fun with an endoscope camera lately so i can keep an eye on things inside the machines. Just need to get some red spectrum LEDs installed with it, so it can view everything rather than just being blinded when it cures a layer!

Re: Printing Results - Miniatures (Log)

New tension ring - took the improvements from the Pico 2 with beveled edges to spread the tension of the teflon film better, which is working well to improve the life of build trays.

Also taken from the Pico 2 is how the aluminum provides a stable solid base to calibrate the build platform without the calibration plate, resulting in more accurate calibration.

If anyone wants one in nice bead blasted aluminum, may be able to make them available later smile
