Workshop. The Nightguard Blueprint: Scan, Design, and 3D Print Occlusal Splints
An exciting all-day practical hands-on event hosted at 3DBIOCAD in Kent, WA.Â
Unlock a seamless, profitable workflow in this hands-on workshop, where you will master how to go from a digital intraoral scan to a perfect
This intensive, hands-on course is designed for dental technicians, clinicians, and lab managers ready to eliminate traditional analog bottlenecks and master the complete digital workflow for occlusal appliances. Participants will dive deep into the entire ecosystem of digital nightguard fabrication, moving seamlessly from data acquisition to the final physical product. By leveraging advanced digital tools, you will learn how to drastically reduce turnaround times while achieving a level of fit and accuracy that traditional hand-pouring methods simply cannot replicate.
The curriculum begins with the foundational principles of intraoral scanning and digital impression validation, ensuring your data is flawless before it ever reaches the design phase. From there, attendees will gain practical, step-by-step experience using industry-leading CAD software to design custom nightguards, control parameters for proper occlusal contact, and manage patient-specific paths of insertion. We will demystify the digital design space, teaching you how to predictably navigate complex cases, handle severe bruxism requirements, and design with both rigid and thermo-active materials in mind.
The final segment of the course focuses heavily on the additive manufacturing process, specifically optimizing production on Asiga 3D printers, including nesting, printing, and post-processing. By the conclusion of this training, you will possess the practical skills and technical confidence to implement a highly profitable, streamlined scan-to-print workflow back in your own laboratory or clinic.
This course is certified for 8 CE credit hours through the NBC.
