Lecturer and Faculty at the University of Greenwich
Dr Ana-Maria Totea joined the University of Greenwich in 2023 as a Lecturer in Pharmaceutical Science. She previously worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Huddersfield on a topical formulation aimed at enhancing the effect of scalp cooling in reducing chemotherapy induced alopecia. Ana worked in industry as a development scientist in the R&D team of a pharmaceutical company between 2019 and 2021. In collaboration with other scientists from Greenwich and other institutions, Ana’s team is focussing on developing innovative drug delivery systems for skin, cosmetics, and other medical applications. Ana is embarking on a new adventure to explore 3D printing technology, utilising the state-of-the-art Asiga Ultra in some of her team’s most exciting projects. They started exploring 3D printing applications in dentistry and, also, ways to produce bespoke microfluidic chips using Asiga’s cutting-edge 3D printing technology. The aim is to identify simple and practical solutions to address ongoing human health issues.
