Dr. Panos Bazos is a Greek-American dentist/orthodontist, educator, researcher and entrepreneur best known as the founder and leading figure of the Bio-Emulationâ„¢ Group, leading the biomimetic movement in restorative dentistry. He received his DDS from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in 2000 and later completed his specialist training in Orthodontics at the University of Edinburgh in 2016. When the moment came to adopt digital workflows in his clinical practice, he opted to choose the robust working solution of the Asiga UV Max in conjunction with the Medit scanning ecosystem, creating an efficient, economical and seemless integration of digital
input to physical output.
In 2011, he founded the Bio‑Emulation Group, an international think tank and educational movement that promotes reproducing nature’s design principles in restorative dentistry. The philosophy emphasizes understanding tooth anatomy, biomechanics, and optical behavior before attempting to restore it.
His published work alongside Dr. Pascal Magne helped popularize the histo-anatomic approach in restorative dentistry, including influential papers on:
Structural analysis of natural teeth.
Optical integration of restorations.
Biomimetic restorative concepts.
Advanced shade analysis and dental photography.
