Bill Marais graduated as a registered dental technician in 1993, after four years of study in dental technology, from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in Cape Town in South Africa. He later emigrated to the US and, in 1999, opened his own dental laboratory, Disa Dental Studio, a one-man laboratory focusing on high-end, complex, combination cases. He is a key opinion leader for GC America and lectures for the company nationally. He also lectures independently and teaches dental photography classes.
